What makes a movie work ?

For different people this might change as per choice or interest ( may be mood as well ) .As for me ,the following makes a movie interesting
1] A good story ( adaptation from a novel ) or a simple story with good twists and turns .
2] Performances ( which may or may not come from a well known star cast ) .
3] The element of surprise ...... a movie should never become predictable .
4] Well directed and justified role for all the actors .
5] Avoiding the cliche ( expecially when it comes to dialogues ) .
6] Catchy soundtrack
The list may have lot more add .What I intend to suggest is that we don't look for perfection but
genuine effort to make a good movie .
