One of my favorite genre has been gangster flicks .They portray the rise of a
common ( sometimes subdued ) individual to a ruthless and notorious criminal .
In most of the crime dramas I have seen , gangsters have surprisingly common
lifestyle as that of any other human being – a family , wife ,kids ,friends and
foes .The only aspect which separates them is the power they have and the fear
they use to get what they want .This continues till someone else comes to
replace them , by choice or by force .
Its always an interesting battle between crime and law .Sometimes both of
these are paths to achieve justice or there might be a face off between the two .
American Gangster , The Godfather ,GoodFellas , Miller’s Crossing , Casino ,
Scarface , Company and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai are few of my must
watch suggestions .Watch them for their style ,performances and dialogues and
not to get inspired .
